Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and it aims to recognise the mistreatment of the elderly community. 

It has been revealed that 1 in 6 older Australians have experienced abuse in the past year.

CEO of ADA Australia, Geoff Rowe joined Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons to discuss the mistreatment of the elderly community.

To show support for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, there is a community event at the Flowstate Outdoor Pavilion at South Bank Parklands.
