A crime scene has been declared and a man is speaking with police after a woman’s body was discovered north of Brisbane.

The 56-year-old woman was found dead in the yard of a Kallangur residence this afternoon following reports of a disturbance.

A 36-year-old man is assisting police.

Police say the man and woman were relatives, but it’s understood it was the woman’s home.

They say it was a confronting scene when emergency services arrived.

Inspector Ben Fadian called on members of the public who may be able to help with their investigations.

“We are appealing for assistance from the public in regards to any person who may have been on Duffield Road and Winter Road today between the hours of 9am and 1pm, who may have dashcam footage.”
