We want to see personal income tax lowered, Michaelia Cash says
May’s Budget is just around the corner and the money flowing into the government’s revenue coffers is more promising than we realise.
$8 billion has been injected in February alone and this gives the government a greater scope for tax cuts.
Employment Relations Minister Michaelia Cash confirms to Ross Greenwood she’d like to see personal income tax cuts.
“We will continue to pursue tax cuts for larger businesses.
“We also want to see the personal income tax that people pay lowered but you can only do that… when you get the economic settings right.”
In terms of the nation’s poor wage growth, Senator Cash envisages wages will rise but says “we can’t sit on our laurels”.
“More needs to be done. But the right economic conditions ultimately contribute to higher wages growth.”
