Plenty of celebrities have walked through the doors of Caxton Street’s Gambaro Seafood in its more than 60 years of business, but some names have really stood out.

The restaurant is in the news this morning as it closes for three weeks for a dramatic renovation, alongside its sister restaurant, Black Hide.

Luke Bradnam set out to get the inside scoop on the story, which was pretty easy, considering that his panel operator on 4BC Summer Breakfast, Mike, is Frank Gambaro’s son.

“Now, here’s my question for you,” Luke said. “Who’s the most famous person that’s waltzed in?

“Don’t give me Alfie Langer, don’t give me Gordie Tallis, we know those guys. Give me an A-lister. Who’s the most famous person that’s waltzed into Caxton.”

While Bon Jovi and Ed Sheeran have both made appearances in the restaurant over recent years, Mike had an even bigger name in his back pocket.
