QLD in for a soaking: Wet weather, floods possible for the next 6 months

Queensland could be in for a repeat of this year’s devastating floods, with warnings the state is in for a wet spring, and an even wetter summer.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says she doesn’t want us to be alarmed, but she enouraged people to be prepared.
“These conditions could be similar to the conditions we saw over the summer this year, so we will be monitoring things very carefully.”
Meteorologist from the Bureau of Meteorology Laura Boekel said it was a double whammy, of a negative Indian Ocean Dipole phase and another La Niña event.
“That means we are gearing up for a season that could see quite a bit of flooding across Queensland.”
Queensland has also had a wetter than average winter.
