Police nab alleged looters in Operation Nash

4BC News

Four people have been charged with stealing by looting overnight, police say.

On Ipswich Road at Rocklea police pulled over two vehicles, one towing a trailer, last night.

It’s alleged the trailer and cars were loaded with dozens of wheels and tyres, allegedly taken from outside a flood-hit business.

A 30-year-old Rocklea man was charged and is expected to appear in court later this month.

In a separate incident, a car was intercepted by officers patrolling on the M1 at Woolloongabba, around 1am this morning.

Police will allege the three people visited several private properties, yards and carparks impacted by flooding and “collected a variety of items including camping gear and copper wire”.

While conducting a search of the vehicle, it will be alleged a small quantity of drugs, syringes and ammunition were also located.

All three have been charged.
