More than nine out of ten businesses in this country are small businesses. These companies employ more than 40 per cent of Australia’s workforce and account for 33 per cent of our Gross Domestic Product.

Borrowing money from banks can prove very difficult but there’s an inquiry that’s been launched to look at ways to make it easier for small and medium sized businesses to get the financing they need.

Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman, Kate Carnell says it’s so hard for new business owners to get loans which stops many from entering into the small business market.
