Helicopter parents are now crash-landing in workplaces
Once restricted to playgroups, schools and universities, helicopter parents hover over their children and fly in to ‘rescue’ them at the first sign of trouble in the workplace.
Experts believe that around one in three companies have experienced intervention from employees’ parents such as submitting job applications & attending a job interviews in place of their son or daughter.
Luke Grant talks to Professor Gary Martin, CEO the Australian Institute of Management WA, to find out what is diving this behaviour and what are the consequences for the children of these over-zealous parents?
