Brisbane heritage gems feeling the development squeeze
Brisbane’s architectural heritage is unique but development pressures have new homes and units literally closing in.
The Priory at Indooroopilly sits on 4 hectares overlooking the Brisbane River but now a developer has been given approval to hive off about 3 hectares to build units.
Jane Alexander is the Qld Heritage Advocacy Manager with the National Trust and she explains to Mark that it is the big landing holdings that make gems like the Priory so vulnerable.
