A former Matildas star was the victim of an attempted carjacking during a live radio interview in Coorparoo overnight. 

Elissia Carnavas was speaking with Simon Hill on SENQ just before 10.30 when she suddenly began screaming and the line dropped out.

Police say a group of five men, including one who was wielding a knife, had surrounded her car and attempted to open a door.

When they found the doors were locked, they fled down Bennetts Road in the VW Passat they’d arrived in.
