Man charged with murder of partner in North Qld to face court today

A North Queensland man accused of murdering his partner will face court today after her body was found by teens in bushland near Townsville.
It’s alleged 44-year-old Tania Trickey was killed by her partner, who police say she’d only recently got into a relationship with.
Police allege the 38-year-old man was driving a red Toyota in the Bluewater area around the time of the alleged attack on August 13, before driving south down the Bruce Highway.
In Yalboroo, south of Proserpine, on August 14, the 38-year-old is accused of firing a single shot into a passing car.
He’s due in Mackay Magistrates Court today, charged with a number of offences, including murder.
