A man has been charged after allegedly rushing at Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin while it was lying in state on Friday.

A livestream of people streaming through Westminster Hall was cut off during the incident, where the man was reportedly taken to the floor by police officers.

He has been charged with an offence under the Public Order Act and will appear in court on Monday, local time.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Spencer Howson the incident was captured in a video uploaded to TikTok.

“Our TV news bulletins did run it but it didn’t run in the UK,” he said. “They decided to not show it there.

“They weren’t forced to not show it but they were told, ‘If you do show it, you may lose access to continuing feeds over the next few days’.”
