It’s been a horror 24 hours on the roads after two fatal crashes in Queensland.

There have been over 15 crashes around the south-east today alone.

In 2022, 215 people have died on Queensland’s roads, 17 more than the same time last year.

Queensland is on track for a record year of road fatalities.

Acting Chief Superintendent Chris Stream said driver behaviour was playing a part in crashes.

“We are back to the fatal five again, that’s speed, seatbelts, drink and drug driving, distraction and fatigue, which is contributing to these accidents,” he told Peter Fegan, filling in on Brisbane Live.

He urged people to slow down and drive to the conditions.
