‘Bureaucracy gone bonkers’: Lord Mayor weighs in on Dockside eviction
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner says the operators who are being evicted from the Dockside Marina need a permanent home ahead of the 2032 Games.
The businesses are reportedly being ejected from the area by the state government because the marina’s lease forbids commercial activity.
He described it as “bureaucracy gone bonkers” to kick out tourism operators.
“It seems to me to be absolutely crazy, we need to get this sorted out,” he told Scott Emerson.
He has been speaking to operators about the issue.
“We need to find a home for them,” he said.
“I want to work with the state government so that we can get them thinking about a permanent, proper home for these operators.
“We are the river city, we need these operators not only to survive, but to thrive.”
