Police nab alleged border hopper in car being towed
A woman has been fined for allegedly attempting to cross the border into Queensland, hiding in the boot of a car that was on a tow truck.
At around 3.40pm on August 18 police pulled over the the tow truck at the border at Goondiwindi and directed the male driver to open the boot of a sedan positioned on the tray.
A search of the trunk allegedly uncovered a 49-year-old woman hiding under blankets and clothing.
The woman had been denied entry to Queensland at the same border crossing in Goondiwindi on two previous occasions.
She was arrested and transported to Boggabilla in NSW.
She was fined $4,135.
