Why introducing daylight saving is a ‘political geography’ issue

Daylight saving will come to an end next week, and Queensland will join the same time zone once again as NSW, Victoria.
There’s been a lot of talk and debate about the issue in Queensland in recent months.
Dr Thomas Sigler, a senior lecturer in human geography at the University of Queensland, was asked about the reluctance from Queensland’s government to take the leap and introduce daylight saving.
He told Scott Emerson it’s a “political geography issue”.
“It all boils down to the fact they have nothing to gain and everything to lose.”
