What Warren Mundine finds ‘bizarre’ amid flood of abuse

Warren Mundine says he’s copped more racist abuse in the past two weeks than in his entire life after opposing an Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
The Aboriginal leader earlier this month argued the concept is “a waste of time” and strong supporters still can’t explain exactly what the position would mean.
“I don’t mind if someone who disagrees with me wants to have an argument or a debate about it … but when they start throwing in racist attacks, I just find that bizarre,” he told Sofie Formica.
“I just cannot believe that people who call themselves progressives and anti-racists, strong supports of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and then use this abuse.”
I have enjoyed, the past week, blocking and muting the bullies, bigots & racist, one by one from my social media. 😊 Sooo therapeutic & fun. #auspol

“The vast majority is coming from non-Indigenous people and mainly from the left, who support the voice and say they support Aboriginal people.”
