WATCH | Police dog uncovers huge underground gun stash

A police dog in north Queensland has made an incredible needle in a haystack find while on a job near Mareeba.
PD Quincy was brought to an Arriga property as part of ongoing investigations into alleged kidnapping and torture last weekend.
It was there he uncovered the hatch to a bunker, which contained 27 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition, buried beneath a haystack.

Police were executing a search warrant after a 28-year-old man attended the property on September 4 to meet with a 27-year-old man he knew.
It’s alleged when he arrived, the 27-year-old and a 37-year-old man, both armed with rifles, tied him up in a vehicle and assaulted and robbed him.
The 28-year-old was released and drove to Atherton Hospital for treatment.
Along with the guns and ammunition, officers found jewellery, watches, cannabis, methylamphetamine and property belonging to the alleged victim.
The 27-year-old was charged with armed robbery, deprivation of liberty, torture, assault occasioning bodily harm, wilful damage and two counts possession of dangerous drugs.
The 37-year-old man was charged with two counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, as well as armed robbery, deprivation of liberty, torture, assault occasioning bodily harm, unlawful possession of a weapon, threatening violence with a firearm and wilful damage.
Both were remanded in custody and will reappear in Mareeba Magistrates Court on November 11.
Investigations into the located firearms are continuing.
