Taxify launches in Sydney today and is expected to launch in Melbourne before Christmas.

Country Manager for Taxify Samuel Raciti says Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide are likely to come online in the new year.

Speaking with Deborah Knight, Mr Raciti says the competition will give customers a better deal.

“Ultimately we’ll probably sit about 5% cheaper than other competitors on the market.”

He’s confident Taxify will be able to break into an Aussie market dominated by Uber.

“We’ve done so in multiple markets around the world. It’s not our first rodeo coming into countries where Uber has already got a strong monopoly.

“We’re hoping to shake it up and bring some competition that will hopefully flow onto some nice price differences.”
