Two officers injured after scuffle at Borallan Correctional Centre
An officer was punched and another left with minor injuries after a scuffle at the Borallan Correctional Centre.
There were reports the officers were stabbed, but the Queensland Corrective Services confirmed in a statement to 4BC Drive that was incorrect.
“Officers were conducting a unit inspection when a prisoner approached an officer and punched him several times,” the statement read.
“The officer attempted to move away from the prisoner, who continued to approach him, before responding officers subdued the prisoner and he was removed from the detention unit.”
One officer was left with a cut to his chin, while the other was assessed after he was injured in the altercation, although he was able to continue his shift.
