Teachers are turning to social media to plan lessons, according to a new survey by the Grattan Institute.

It found half of teachers questioned are interpreting the curriculum on their own, while two-thirds use YouTube at least once a fortnight.

President of the Queensland Teachers’ Union Cresta Richardson welcomed a discussion around education and what’s happening in schools, including what teaching and learning looks like.

“I would suggest, if teachers are using those materials, it’s about engagement,” she told Peter Fegan, filling in on Brisbane Live.
