A suspended driver has been charged after not only getting caught driving twice in one day, but also using her phone and speeding with a two-year-old in the back seat.

Police pulled over the Holden Commodore after it was caught at 149km/h in an 80 zone on the Hume Highway at Tumblong, in the NSW Riverina.

It’s alleged the 21-year-old female driver had her mobile phone on her lap and a two-year-old in the backseat.

Her excuse? Using her phone directions, telling police she didn’t pay attention to how fast she was travelling, “because nobody likes being stuck behind other cars right?”

The officers then discovered the woman’s licence was suspended.

She copped a $2,378 fine, plus a court attendance notice.

But it doesn’t end there.

Not long after she was allegedly spotted speeding again.

She was arrested and taken to Gundagai Police station where she was charged and released on bail.

Family and Community Services has been notified of the incident.
