A search is underway for a two-year-old boy missing on an isolated rural property in the far north of Queensland.

QLD Police have resumed the search for Ruben Scott, who has been missing since 5pm on Tuesday.

Ruben was last seen near the station’s homestead, located on a remote cattle property at Maramie, 100kms east of Kowanyama, on the western side of Cape York Peninsula.

The area is a known crocodile habitat.

Police, SES, and concerned volunteers have resumed the desperate search for the toddler on foot, in vehicles and in the air in two private helicopters.

Two drones have also joined the search.

Cape Patrol Inspector Mark Henderson, who has travelled to the property, said the search would continue throughout today and into the night.

“This property is located in remote western Queensland… the countryside itself is rugged and challenging.

“We’ve brought in additional resources and flown in assets to assist with the search.

“The local community here and in Kowanyama have been great and I’d like to thank everyone for their on-going efforts in trying to find this little boy.

“We won’t stop, we will keep searching, and looking, and hopefully bring this family some peace.”

Ruben’s mother, Natasha Scott, has posted on Facebook asking for help to find her “little Ruby”.
