Woolworths strips shelves of $1/ltr milk

Woolworths has announced that from Tuesday this week it will no longer sell its homebrand milk for just $1-a-litre.

It will charge $1.10-a-litre with the extra 10 cents going directly to struggling dairy farmers on a permanent basis.

Budget priced milk first hit supermarket shelves in 2011 and Queensland Dairyfarmers Organisation President Brian Tessman tells Mark it is now vital that Coles and Aldi follow the Woolworth’s lead.
