What is Chinese New Year & The Year of The Pig?

Chinese New Year began yesterday and this year is the last in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac, the Year of The Pig, with festivities seeing the largest movement of people over a fortnight in any time in history. 

Over 200 million Chinese city dwellers returning to their home towns and villages in rural China and it’s estimated that Australia will host over 250,000 Chinese tourists in February. 

Bill Lang is an Australia-China business relations expert & Chairman of the Institute of Advanced Business.  He joins Michael to explain the significance of Chinese New Year as well as giving his view of how the demand for milk powder in mainland China has lead to baby formula shortages here in Australia.
