Last week, the Trump administration revealed it intends to impose tariffs of 25% on steel imports and 10% on imported aluminium.

There’s been a flurry of concern in Canberra since, with many unsure whether the tariffs will apply to Australian imports.  It was initially thought that US allies would be exempt, with the protectionist scheme targeting the currency and trade manipulations of China.

However, Trump’s Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross has said that as far as he’s aware, no tariff exemptions are on the agenda.
