Tracing the origins of a Lumpy Skin Disease incursion

Some advocacy groups are disputing Indonesia’s suspension of live cattle exports, after the detection of lumpy skin disease.

Four of Australia’s 32 facilities are being blocked from trade, after 13 cows, which had been in the country for some time, tested positive.

Rural editor Sophie Clarke caught up with the country’s chief veterinary officer Mark Schipp who insists Australia is free of the disease.

He believes the animals were likely infected during processing.
