The unholy row over God’s gender
A number of Brisbane’s leading catholic colleges have begun adopting gender neutral language in reference to God and even in prayers.
One school makes the sign of the cross with the words “The Creator, Jesus and the Holy Spirit’’, while another has replaced “himself” with “Godself.”
Many have criticised the changes as political correctness gone mad but Associate Professor Robyn Horner from the Australian Catholic University’s Institute for Religion and Critical Inquiry tells Mark that the Catholic Church has been moving in this direction for decades.
