Springfield landcare group happy with ban on single use plastics

The sale or supply of single-use plastic straws, stirrers, plates, bowls and cutlery, and polystyrene takeaway food containers and cups, is now banned in Queensland.

The ban came into effect on Wednesday.

There are some exemptions, such as medical suppliers, dental clinics and disability facilities.

Someone who is happy with the ban is Luise Manning, President of Springfield Lakes Nature Care.
