Businesses in one regional community are banding together to sponsor international travellers to combat ongoing worker shortages.

Locals in the New South Wales Riverina have tried unsuccessfully for the past 12 months to fill job vacancies locally.

Rural editor Sophie Clarke caught up with Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory general manager Rhiannon Druce, who says some owners are on the brink of closing their doors unless they can find the staff they need.
