Soil carbon incentives and “additionality”

Farmers who have historically managed their land well, have little to gain from soil carbon incentives.

Those who take part in the Clean Energy Regulator’s Emissions Reduction Fund get rewarded, if they can show an improvement in their soil carbon sequestration.

Rural reporter Rhiannon Soliman-Marron caught up with University of Tasmania Associate Professor Matthew Harrison, to talk more about the farmers, who might not fit the Fund’s bill.
