An expert has called the state government’s inquiry into e-scooters the right step, but has pushed for it to be comprehensive.

Head of public policy at the RACQ Dr Michael Kane, says the government needs to send a strong message.

“If you don’t get on top of the regulation and set the culture of what needs to be done, and enforce the rules, then you get cowboy land, and I think the problem has been that the rules haven’t kept up with the problem, and we haven’t done enough to enforce the rule,” he told 4BC Drive.
