Resolution to seasonal worker border issue “imminent”

There’s optimism yesterday’s emergency meeting of the nation’s agriculture ministers will get seasonal workers back onto farms along the New South Wales-Victorian border.

It has been more than a week since the New South Wales Government banned seasonal workers from crossing the Murray River.

The decision in the middle of the citrus harvest is estimated to be costing growers $1.7 million dollars a day.

Citrus Australia and the New South Wales DPI have submitted a plan to the state’s health department.
