“Reach out and back yourself” – Author Kerrie Atherton and Stories of Hope

Jason Dasey

The number of men who die by suicide in Australia every year is nearly double the national road toll, yet men’s mental health is still widely unspoken about.

It has been a tough period of lockdowns and cost-of-living increases impacting many Aussies, as well as the death of beloved former NRL coach Paul Green.

But if you’ve been going through a hard time recently, you might find comfort in the Stories of Hope series, put together by author Kerrie Atherton, who joins 4BC Weekends to chat about men’s mental health.

If this conversation brings up sensitive issues for you or someone you know, please contact Lifeline at 13 11 14.
