Peugeot 5008 oozes French style

I’ve just tested the new seven-seat Peugeot 5008 – the mid-spec 1.6-litre turbo petrol auto GT-line at $46,990. Step into this French SUV and you’re greeted by a practical flat top and flat bottom steering wheel and the most comfortable well thought out seats in the business. The dash and interior oozes French style with a nice choice of materials that give it a quality touch.
The 1.6-litre turbo petrol no powerhouse, lacking the torque of the dearer diesel GT but over the week it never really felt underpowered. Ride and seat comfort are impressive, again giving the Peugeot 5008 a quality feel. Seat versatility also a high point – the third row seats best for kids and not easy to access but the best feature is that you can remove them and at only 11 kilos each it’s an easy task. And herein lays the versatility of the Peugeot 5008. Yes you’ll pay more but the equipment list is just so impressive. I’m David Berthon
