Peugeot 3008 SUV a cut above the rest

David Berthon

Peugeot’s latest 3008 SUV has quickly become the French marques best seller – a much improved European SUV and the first of a number of new models we’ll see under a new importer . It’s been a tough few years for Peugeot so the 3008 carries a lot on its shoulders.
On first impression good looking with a nice stance but open the door and you’re met by one of the best SUV interior’s you could find. Sit in it and you’ll be further impressed by one of Peugeot’s long suits – great supportive seats as well as a very pleasing ride quality. Yes it’s French and different but the interior just works so well. I tested the entry 3008 Active 1.6-litre turbo petrol six speed auto – at $36,990 well above the small SUV best sellers the Mitsubishi ASX and Mazda 3. Having said that, this small Peugeot SUV is a cut above – one for the more discerning buyer. The Peugeot 3008 is quiet, refined, smooth and very comfortable, as I said, with a very impressive interior. You pay more but you get a lot more cruise control with a speed limiter, lane departure warning, a 180 degree reversing camera, 8-inch colour touch screen, 3D navigation, front and rear parking sensors, auto headlights and wipers, alloy roof rails and seat height adjustment on the passenger seat and so often forgotten. If you’re looking for a small SUV with a difference you won’t do much better. I’m David Berthon
