New Mitsubishi Triton set to arrive

David Berthon

There’s no denying the importance of the trusty ute – of our top ten selling vehicles last month three were utes – Toyota’s Hilux remained our best-selling vehicle, Ford’s Ranger in second place with Mitsubishi’s Triton holding 10th position. The lion share of the trio’s sales were in 4 x 4 dual-cab form – as I’ve said on many occasions dual-cab utes are now so refined that they not only serve as work horses through the week but recreational family vehicles on the weekend. One of my favourite’s has always been the Mitsubishi Triton and this week we saw the first pictures of the next generation model due in January. The latest Triton has 2400 changes to the outgoing model – stunning new looks with suggested car like safety technology and a smoother ride. No prices yet however the company has indicated there’ll be a lift in prices commensurate with the lift in technology. Competitive pressure however will keep prices sharp. I’m David Berthon
