Labor’s push for a ‘living wage’

Yesterday Bill Shorten pledged to life the minimum wage claiming that $18.93 is too low for the average adult to look after their family.

At the end of the day it’s easy for any politician to make the case for higher wages because it will not cost them a cent as it will be up to the business sector to find the extra coin.

For the millions for small businesses which are the backbone of Australia’s economy it may simply be an impossible task.

Peter Strong, the CEO of the Council of Small Business of Australia, joins Michael for his take on this proposed hike on the minimum wage
