Kamahl remembers Bert Newton

Mike Jeffreys

Following the death of Bert Newton on Saturday at a private clinic in Melbourne, Michael is joined by Kamahl, International icon of the Australian music industry, for his memories of the TV legend who boasted an extraordinary career that spanned decades.

Newton was a quadruple Gold Logie award-winning entertainer, a radio, theatre and television personality/presenter who hosted the Logie Awards ceremony on seventeen occasions.

Malaysian-born Aussie singer Kamahl remembers Newton fondly, having tweeted, ‘Bert helped coin the question “Why are people so unkind?” some 40 years ago!  I can never thank him enough!  He was a “Wonderful, wonderful” man!’
