The federal agriculture minister has labelled labor’s Murray Darling Basin policy as a hoax, designed to grab South Australian votes.

In December, all basin states signed off on all water recovered from the river system must have neutral or positive socio-economic impacts.

But Labor now wants to revert to the original socio economic impacts.

It’s also proposing to strip the MDBA of its compliance actions, and move it to the EPA.
