How much bigger should Australia get?

Luke Grant

The Hon. Kelvin Thomson, Former Federal Member for Wills & spokesman for the Sustainable Australia Party, joins Luke Grant to discuss the topic of just how much bigger should Australia’s population get?

We’re told by the powers that be, that in time Australia can “grow our way out” of our COVID-19 slump.

So how, exactly, do we fuel that growth?

The boffins say it can be done with immigration.  Policy-makers are quick to point out that the years 2020 to 2022 will actually see a negative migration rate.  That means more people will leave Australia than enter it.

They say Australia’s migration intake won’t return to ‘normal’ – at over 200,000 new migrants each year – till 2024.

The major political parties are mute on the subject with the average voter never getting the chance to debate the issue of overpopulation.
