How are ‘generations’ determined & do they have common traits?

Phil O'Neil

Luke speaks with Simon Kuestenmacher, the Co-founder of the Demographic Group and columnist for The Australian, to explore the fairness and accuracy of the generation gap and the biases associated with it.

During a recent Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs committee meeting, Australian Federal Police Commissioner Reece Kershaw shed light on the distinct praise requirements of different generations.

He cited research presented at a policing conference, highlighting that Generation Z workers seek praise more frequently compared to their older counterparts.

According to Mr Kershaw, Gen Z individuals desire praise three times a week or a total of 156 times annually.  In contrast, millennials only require recognition three times a year, while Gen X individuals need it just once a year.

Simon Kuestenmacher runs the old fact or fiction over generational prejudices.
