Holden’s new 7-seat Arcadia to drive showroom traffic

From Holden this week – a new large seven-seat SUV the Acadia – a chance for Holden to appeal to a market that continues to have a strong demand for SUV’s and it’s a very good effort for the beleaguered importer.

Now under the management control of former Toyota Australia President Dave Buttner who is a real asset to Holden, Buttner understands the import business better than
most, a great marketer and his hands on role with the launch of Acadia this week was most evident. Holden dealers have been battling low showroom traffic and a market share of just 5 per cent, a far cry from it’s heyday, however Buttner is confident with the right import product he can build the company again – coping with dealer dissatisfaction has not been easy but Holden’s dealer strength has always been a bonus and with 211 outlets around the country he’s confident with the right product Holden can slowly regain its strength.
