GENESIS GV60 Performance Electric SUV packs some punch

David Berthon

Driving the small Genesis GV60 SUV today – the smallest of Genesis’s three
SUV’s the GV60 designed as a ground-up electric vehicle – in two all-wheel drive
premium priced grades with a high level of specification – the entry GV60 at
$106,375 and the GV60 Performance at $113,375. As part of the purchase price,
they come with a welcome five-year complimentary Chargefox subscription or a
wall box charger installed at your home. I drove the dual electric motor GV60
Performance with 360kW and 700Nm of torque. sitting on larger 21-inch wheels
and gaining adaptive electronic suspension and a limited-slip differential. The
GV60 range quoted at 466 kms from a 77.4kWh lithium-ion battery pack which on
my 11kW home charger took around 7 hours to charge. But it is capable of taking
a 350kW charge which will take capacity from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes. The
Genesis GV60 is comprehensively equipped with one major omission – wireless
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – you still have to plug your phone in for access.
Great cabin ambience and seat comfort. Like Hyundai’s higher grade IONIQ 5
models the GV60 comes with digital side mirrors which are weird at best and
simply unnecessary. Warranty five-years/unlimited km with service costs
complimentary.
