Ford Mustang sales strong

David Berthon

Ford’s Mustang continues to be a success story for Ford Australia with sales still running strongly. Last year 6208 Mustangs hit Australian roads. More stock has recently freed up for the Australian market and the company now expects the current wait time to drop to around 3 months. Demand for the sixth-generation Mustang continues which is in contrast to the trend for most sports cars, which usually sees an early spike in sales followed by slow decline in demand. The iconic nature of this American pony car is amazing and its appeal is enjoyed by young and old alike – and it’s a true winner for Ford. Strong sales are expected to continue into next year driven by the arrival of a face-lifted model at year end with more safety technology and re-worked 5.0-litre V8 and 2.3-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engines. Ford have not adjusted prices since launch – the V8 the more popular – $57,490 in manual hardtop, $59,990 in auto, $66,205 in auto-only convertible. I’m David Berthon
