Farmers counting the cost of Qld bushfires

Conditions have eased but Queensland’s bushfire emergency is far from over with fire crews still working right across the state.

While bushland and national parks have borne the brunt of the devastation farmers in central and north Queensland have not escaped unscathed.

Canegrowers CEO Dan Galligan explains to Mark that around 800 hectares of sugarcane crops has been destroyed while one grower also lost his home.
