Ekka bridges the city-country divide
When the Ekka opens tomorrow many people will make a beeline for sideshow alley and the showbag pavilion but the Ekka’s main purpose is to bring the country to the city.
With drought ravaging almost 60% of the state it could not be more timely to put the work of the bush front and centre.
Dairy farmer Kay Tommerup is the 2018 Face of the Ekka and she tells Mark people on the land will be very happy to share their stories with showgoers.
