Decision imminent on cancellation of Novak Djokovic’s visa

Luke Grant

There has yet to be a decision from Immigration Minister Alex Hawke on whether to cancel the visa of tennis star Novak Djokovic, who has now been in Australia for a week.

The decision to cancel Djokovic’s visa last week was overturned in the Federal Circuit Court on Monday and lawyers for Mr Djokovic have submitted “lengthy” submissions on the matter, so a decision one way or the other will have to be made.

Luke Grant, who is filling in for John Stanley, is joined by former Immigration Department Deputy Secretary Abul Rizvi as they discuss whether or not the current Australian Open champion will be able to defend his title.
