All new Honda CR-V SUV just around the corner

DAVID BERTHON

It set the standard for what is today our most popular vehicle style – the arrival
of the first Honda CR-V SUV in 1997 changed the car markets penchant for four
door sedans. The first CR-V really set the Honda brand on fire in this country,
with standard all-wheel-drive it became a firm family favourite. Since then, every
manufacturer has followed, and the CR-V lost its mantle. However, an all-new
Honda CR-V SUV is due next month, and it looks a cracker. Priced from $44,500
drive-away the seven-model range with petrol and petrol/electric power promises
much with a choice of five and seven seats and the option of two or all-wheel-
drive. On first impression this fourth generation CR-V offers far more style and
according to Honda far more technology and safety. Its smaller sibling the ZR-V
has already sold out to 2024. I’m David Berthon
