5m people now call Queensland home but can they all fit?
Queensland’s population has officially hit the 5 million mark four years earlier than predicted.
In the last year 50,000 migrated to the sunshine state, 19,000 from interstate – 30,800 from overseas.
In the next 25 years 5.3 million are expected to live in south-east Queensland which would require an extra 800,000 dwellings.
